Large Animal Wellness Care
An owner's daily commitment to provide balanced nutrition; safe, well-maintained housing; and other care for large animals such as horses, cattle and other livestock does not go unnoticed. The same level of care is essential when it comes to their annual wellness evaluations. During these visits, a licensed veterinarian performs a comprehensive health assessment, including, but not limited to body condition scoring, lameness evaluations, dental checks, parasite management review, and vaccine updates tailored to the animals' environment and workload. This helps establish a VCPR (veterinary-client-patient-relationship) so that we can help provide continued information and service to you and your animal or herd for the following years to come.
While our large animals are experts at masking discomfort, it is not uncommon for early indicators of disease to be identified by the veterinary team during routine exams. These subtle changes would otherwise go undetected without regular veterinary oversight. Staying proactive with herd or individual health management, and addressing concerns early, plays a critical role in supporting the longevity, performance, reproductive health, and overall well-being of your pet and herd investment.
